Beach wedding photography?

My cousin is having a simple beach wedding this month. Since money is limited she said i can photograph the wedding. I'm a beginner at photography in general. I have my share in experiences with photography. I do it as a hobby. I'm using an Olympus E-410 with a standard 14-45mm lens. I don't have money to buy any new accessories. So does anybody have any HELPFUL tips and tricks to take breath taking photos. Or and websites/books that can give me some. Thank you so much :)

Practice outside a lot at the same time of lighting as the wedding. Portraits in bright sunny light are surprisingly hard to do well. You will need a good flash. If you don't have one, see about renting or buying used. Practice, practice , practice.

Here is my favorite link for first time wedding shooters:

My suggestion for inexperienced photographers is to shoot in the Program mode and check the histogram for exposure. Use exposure compensation when necessary. Yes, manual exposure is a better choice if you are accustomed to making your own exposure decisions, but weddings move fast and you don't have much time to think about what setting you need. Program will at least get you in the ballpark most of the time. Aperture priority is another possibility, if you are good at focusing and understand how DoF works.

Have lots of battery power and extra memory. Shoot a lot, but think about what you shoot. Do not delete images in the field, too easy to make a mistake. Shoot fine Jpeg or Raw (or whatever Oly calls their uncompressed file format.) Don't get fancy, just good plain straightforward documentation of the events and some good portraits of the B&G, together and separately, the wedding party and family. Don't stage your formals squinting into the sun. Straight horizons, especially when the ocean is a backdrop.

Practice, practice, practice.

Good luck.
