Help Professional Photographers! What's the best camera for an ameteur?
I have been researching online and I have become overwhelmed with the opinions and biases-based web sites. I am looking for a camera that takes really nice pictures, I can use weekly for tourism, portrait and club pics. I have never taken a photography class so I'm not a professional and I know pretty much the camera basic functions. I am not sure about a budget because I am more conscerned with quality than quantity right now. I have a point and shoot Canon powershot 7.0 mpx, it takes nice pics, but it is blurry at night and is really dark even with flash and it also dims during the day time. What kind of camera would you recommend for me?
If you want to step up and start to get better pics you are going to want to get an inexpensive SLR Camera. Inexpensive being a relative term. You can get a Nikon D40 which is a very entry level SLR with a lens that is OK for about $500. If you have a little more money the camera of choice for most amateurs id the Canon 40D. It will run you just over $1,000 with about the same lens. It is the Camera I owner I would would recommend it without reservation.
